Project Venture Launches Sponsorship Opportunities for 2021 Teams

Updated: Mar 11

In 2019 The Able Trust launched Project Venture, a business development competition, focused on creating a hands-on experience for High School High Tech youth, in addition to just the actual business outcome.

Students are given the choice to create a plan for a business, a product and in one instance a nonprofit organization. Their creativity is the limit. Some of the projects have resulted in successful, real businesses located at the student’s school.

The goals of Project Venture are to:

  • Introduce students to entrepreneurism and the entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Obligate students to work in teams on real-world applications.

  • Allow students to develop workplace communication skills and other soft skills.

  • Enable students to learn-by-doing.

The proposals are judged in two rounds. In the first round, judges read through the plans, view the commercials and then provide a score. The teams with the top five scores then advance to the final round.

In the final round, the judges will be provided the proposals and commercials, as well as the opportunity to see live presentations from these teams similar to an episode of Shark Tank. Judges then score the teams based on all three components. During the presentation, judges are allowed and encouraged to pose questions to the students. The teams with the top five scores then advance to the final round, on May 21, 2021.
